Visited: March 24, 2003 -- Anaheim Vs. Columbus (NHL)
The Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim is about as elegantly appointed as any venue in the NHL's 30-arena circuit. The outside
of the building is pink and sand with blue hues and glasswork. The inside maintains a similar feel with marble-floored concourses
and brass fixtures both in the concourses and seating bowl. The concourses are ample and feature concession items such as
Pizza Hut pizza, hot dogs, burgers, churros and other Mexican items. A wheeled dessert cart serves by far the best
food in the arena. The team store is small and closet-like, but packed with merchandise. The seating area of the Pond is cavernous
and topped with a dome-like roof painted greenish blue. All seats are a copper brown hue, and look great alongside the brass
railings. This experience was bittersweet for me because my Blue Jackets were shellacked, 5-0.
